On Sunday 27th July one Chiltern Harrier took part in the picturesque (and flat) Down Tow Up Flow Half Marathon, organised by Purple Patch Running along the Thames. Mike Turney is a strong performer for the club, but complains that he is struggling to get that illustrious first place for his age group. Always The Bridesmaid, Never The Bride - Mike has had a number of second places over the past few races. In Sunday's Half Marathon he maintained consistency, finishing 2nd in the V50 Male category, with a time of 1.33.20. That put him in 32nd place overall in the race and just one finishing position (less than a minute) behind the winner of the V50 Male category.
There were six Chiltern Harriers taking part in this high calibre inter-county event featuring thirteen strong South-eastern counties at Kingston-on-Thames on Sunday.
