In the Junior Girls (Years 8 and 9) race, Herts Schools first and second placed runners were both Chiltern athletes, Sophie Morton coming 21st and Scarlett Wager-Leigh 53rd. On a short 3k course runners finished thick and fast, at one point 170 girls crossed the line within a minute of each other. For the Bucks Schools team Jess Orr was third scorer in 194th, Sandie Pohlman was 256th and Orla Fawcett 285th.
In the Junior Boys race Angus Denison-Smith was second Middlesex Schools scorer in 114th and Will Brown third Bucks scorer in 156th.
The Intermediate Girls (Years 10 and 11) Bucks team had four Chiltern girls taking part - Hannah Thear was first scorer in 71st, Hannah Morton second in 90th, Katie Bench sixth in 219th and Sophie Chesterman eighth in 250th.
The Intermediate Boys race had one Herts runner and three Bucks runners from Chiltern. Jonty Wager-Leigh had a good run to be 45th and second Herts scorer. The extra distance for the first year Bucks runners (the race was 5.2k) was a factor for Will Perkin, second Bucks scorer in 83rd, Richard Slade, sixth in 212th and Sam Henning, seventh in 239th.
In the Senior Girls race for sixth-formers, Sarah Needleman was second Bucks scorer in 135th with Amy Harris third scorer in 151st.
