The girls fared well and the U13 race was won convincingly for a second successive year by Sophie Morton. Charlotte Munn and Emily Alderson also both had good runs to be sixth and seventh respectively and the team was a close second.
The U15s had just Scarlett Wager-Leigh and Emily Bannister taking part. Scarlett continued her good season to be bronze medallist and Emily also ran well to be seventh.
The U17s and the U20s ran in the same race with results divided up at the end. Hannah Morton had a good run coming back from injury to win the U17 women’s race with Claire Baxter in sixth and Sophie Chesterman seventh. The three just did enough to win the team title from Herts Phoenix, both teams having 14 points but the Chiltern three having better scoring positions.
Sarah Needleman had a very good run to be fourth in the U20 event. All nine Chiltern girls received invitations to compete in the National Inter-County Championships in March.
Of the boys Joel James in sixth and Freddie Whale in 17th had encouraging runs in the U11 race and Oscar Dale was 33rd in the U13s. Jake Alderson competed well and was tenth in the U15 boys race.
In the U17 men’s race Jonty Wager-Leigh (5th), Callum Neal (8th) and Matt Simpson (13th) combined to be team bronze medallists.
