Eddie O’Gorman won the men’s race in 28.15. He was ably supported by, new signing to the club, Alistair Melville-Smith in 6th (29.34) and Thomas Dixon in 7th (29.41) with Allan Stewart completing the team in 10th place in 20.03.
The women’s race was won by, the in-form, Ali Young in 32.13. Not far behind Ali was Sandra Reynolds in 2nd in 32.35, with Sarah Quantrill, returning to competitive running after a break, in 34.30 completing the team.
In the walking race Francisco Reis of Ilford A.C. (40.26) succeeded in beating last year’s winner, Fabian Deuter, of Hillingdon A.C., who had to settle for second place this time (42.59). Maureen Noel of Belgrave Harriers won the ladies event in 51.10.
The Pednor Challenge Combined Competition – walk and run – was won by Keith Vallis of Overton Harriers with Allan Stewart of Chiltern Harriers finishing second. The women’s event was won by Fiona Bishop of Woking A.C.
