On Sunday 7th December Chiltern Harriers’ seniors were in action in the Bedford Half Marathon. Scott Clarke was the first home in 1.44.48; followed by Jonathan Coutts (1.48.43, gun time 1.49.26); Ian Lawson (1.51.25) and Tony Molesworth (2.04.49).
Chiltern Harriers’ Men were in action on Saturday 29th November in the 50th running of the Wolverton 5 mile road race. Eddie O’Gorman placed 20th overall and 2nd in the V40 Category, with a time of 27.14. David Breingan, also in the V40 Category, finished in 34.26; Martyn Cartwright (V60) completed the course in 46.30 and Howard Cave (V60) came out of retirement to celebrate the anniversary of the race, completing it in 53.12.
On Sunday 30th November Chiltern's Yee-King Tham (Womens' V50 Category) took part in the Kingston 10k, completing it in 1.05.39.
Sian Thomas braved the wet and muddy conditions on Sunday to join more than 2,000 other runners in the 30th running of the City of Norwich Half Marathon. Sian did excellently to finish 3rd lady, with a time of 1.24.00. This was a new PB for Sian on this course.
Chiltern Harriers had several teams competing in the annual Berks, Bucks and Oxon Cross Country Championships, held this year at Upton Court Park in Slough.

On Sunday 16th November Chiltern Harriers AC, alongside more than 250 intrepid runners, marked 100 years since the National Cross Country Championships were battled out in Chesham, just a few short months before the onset of the First World War. Although that race was run in the Spring, conditions in Lowndes Park, Chesham were probably favourable for the running of the 2014 Herbert’s Hole Challenge in November: mild temperatures, if wet and muddy underfoot.

On Sunday 9th November a few Chiltern Harriers took part in Purple Patch’s scenic Grand Union Canal Half Marathon, which took them along a scenic, flat route from Cowley Recreation Ground, Uxbridge to Watford’s Cassiobury Park.
David Holmes (V60) came in in just under the two-hour mark, with a time of 01.57.14. He was followed by Reginald Gilbert, in 2.13.34, and Peter Tough of Chiltern Tri, 2.08.43, both also in the V60 Category.
Chiltern Harriers made good progress at the second of the season’s Chiltern Cross Country League matches to be third on the day and move up to third overall. The match was held at the new and interesting venue of The College Equestrian Centre in Keysoe, Bedfordshire.
