She was followed by one of the club coaches, Trevor Brawn, who along with Debbie Tank, did well to come in under the 1 hour mark, with times of 0.57.35 and 0.58.23, respectively. Roger Ellerby did excellently to finish the tough race, in a time of 1.01.14.
Another local and well-attended event for Chiltern Harriers was the South Bucks 10k, held at the Black park Country Park in Wexham. She was followed by Isabelle Winter, 10th in W45 Category in 0.52.39 and Paul Walker, 8th in W55 with a time of 1.00.43
Finally, humble apologies are due to a couple of Chiltern runners who have been in action over the last few weeks and whose results have gone unreported. Ania Gabb, currently in training for the New York City Marathon, ran the Sure Run To The Beat 10k on 14th September in Wembley Park, finishing 4th lady in a time of 0.43.36, A fortnight later she was in action in the Henley Half Trail Marathon, where she finished 2nd in 1.34. Hywel Thomas is also putting in some very strong performances at the moment, with a great result in the Maidenhead Half Marathon earlier in September and a win at the Eton Dorney ‘Man Of Endurance 10k’, where he was followed closely by his 15 year old son.
