The course was muddy in places but conditions were good on a cold but pleasantly sunny afternoon. The main feature of the course was the long hill, which had to be tackled twice, but did little to slow the pace at the front of the race.
Eddie O’Gorman had a great battle for 2nd and 3rd place, eventually out sprinting a Thames Hare & Hounds athlete to get the silver medal with a fine and usually determined run, setting up the team for a good chance of a team place. Next in was, Nick Hughes, keeping up his great form with a strong run in 19th. Followed by James Repper, with David Breingan bringing the team home.
Chiltern had a great result taking the team silver medals, finishing second with 42 points, just behind Thames Hare and Hounds who scored 38. The third place went to Herne Hill Harriers.
