The Under 17 Women were led off by Hannah Thear who ran well for 8.52. Hannah Morton was the fastest of all second leg runners with 8.34 and the team was completed by Katie Bench with 9.41. The U17s were 8th from 19 complete teams.
The Under 20 Men had a good outing on the slightly longer 3k course to be fourth with James McCarthy (10.55), Callum Neal (11.39) and Joe Aherne (11.19) making up the team.
The next race provided more medals with the Under 17 Men tackling the same 3k course as the U20s. Will Perkin led off to win the first leg in 10.46 and he was backed up by great runs from Richard Slade (11.31) and Rob Hall (11.16). Rob had a great battle with the Herne Hill Harriers last leg runner but won out for silver. Will ended up with the fastest lap of the race.
Next on the programme was the U13 Girls event. Emily Alderson led off the A team on their 2k course with a good time of 8.20. Beth Welham was second up with 8.27 and Jess Pullen ran the final leg in 9.13. The A team was 18th. The B team had a good outing with Millie Hughes (9.13), Alice Moffat (8.37) and Olivia Cameron (8.29) coming a commendable 23rd from the 39 complete teams. Isobel Swann (9.16) and Merryn Sutaria (9.19) ran as an incomplete C team.
The Chiltern U13 Boys have a large and strong squad this year and the A team kept the medal haul coming with silvers. Chiltern provided five of the 38 complete teams with the B team 10th, C team 17th, D team 23rd and E team 25th.
Ben Smith got the A team off to a great start to finish fourth in 7.15 on the 2k circuit. Cameron Reid gained the lead with 7.16 and Angus Williams lost just one place to run 7.28 to gain the silver medals.
The B team was Tom Hunter (7.31), Edward Watson (7.52) and Rupert Empson (7.47). The C team consisted of Tommy Davies (7.46), Seb Porter (8.04), and Phoenix Everiss (7.58); the D team Matt Clifford (8.06), Kristian Everiss (8.11), and Harry Brandon (8.21). The E team featured a great first leg by Alex Aldred of 7.39, followed by Ethan Smith in 8.54 and Harry Tack in 8.45.
The Under 15 Girls had three complete teams, the A team coming 8th from 30 complete teams in possibly the highest standard race of the day. Emily Bannister (8.00), Sophie Morton (7.30), and Scarlett Wager-Leigh (7.41) ran well for the A team. The B team which finished 21st featured Orla Fawcett (8.25), Emma Kaye (8.09), and Jess Orr (8.20). The 23rd-placed C team was Lizzie Barraclough (8.20), Maddy Lacey (8.24) and Sandie Pohlman (8.44). Mimi Houlihan-Burne ran as the solo D team runner in 8.24.
The final interest for Chiltern was the Under 15 Boys race. With several key runners absent, the A team did well to be 17th from 24 complete teams with Ethan Kidd (7.29), George Brown (7.40) and Will Brown (7.37) making up the team. In an incomplete B team, Theo Kontos struggled badly with injury but finished his first leg to give Oliver Jackson the chance to run 8.06 on leg 2.
