James McCarthy took on a BMC race and ended up with 1.54.97, just inside the English School Championships qualification of 1.55 for Senior Boys 800m.
In the 100m U15 Joanna Lynch and U13 Harry Brandon both scored PBs, Joanna with 15.00 and Harry 14.24.
Harry went on to be one of five Chiltern athletes taking part in the javelin. Abi Jones has been inching closer to the English Schools Junior Girls qualification standard of 30.00m this season but last night comfortably exceeded it with a best throw of 34.20m. Fellow U15 Emily Baxter made her debut with 11.83m. The three U13 boys taking part all threw PBs, Kristian Everiss with 27.63m, Phoenix Everiss with 19.90m and debutant in the event Harry Brandon a promising 25.72m.
The 1500m featured 22 Chiltern runners whose evenings went as follows
A strong victory here for U15 Emma Kaye who scored a PB of 5.20.56. Fellow U15 Maddy Lacey ran a PB of 5.32.35 and U13 runners Alex Aldred (5.43.28) and Alice Moffat (5.46.69) did well in their debut in the event.
A Chiltern-heavy race saw U13 Tom Hunter make his debut with an impressive 5.07.59. For the U15 girls Jess Orr ran a PB of 5.11.95, Sandie Pohlman a season’s best of 5.16.99, and Charlotte Munn a PB of 5.17.13. Kristian Everiss ran 5.21.27 and twin U13 brother Phoenix ran 5.36.00.
Two very good runs here with U13 Tom Hall getting his season going with a PB of 5.05.23 and U15 Orla Fawcett having her best run of the season to log 5.06.97.
After many injury issues U17 Rob Hall ran a good comeback race of 4.47.72. U15 George Brown ran a PB of 4.54.08 and U13 Angus Williams matched his PB with 4.55.02.
U13 Cameron Reid launched to second in the national rankings with a stunning run of 4.44.04.
Will Brown (U15) ran a PB of 4.40.52, despite an over-fast first lap.
Angus Denison-Smith (U15) revealed himself to be in great shape with a huge PB of 4.33.16.
U17 Jake Williamson made a solid season debut to run 4.33.70.
Chasing English Schools qualification U17 Will Perkin was frustrated by a slow second lap but ran away from the field on a 62-second last lap to score a PB of 4.12.63. U20 Joe Aherne ran a season’s best of 4.17.81.
After a hard school football match earlier in the day U20 Michael Goddard faded to 4.17.69 in this one.
