On Sunday 1st March Chiltern Harriers had a strong (not to mention PB-and-SB-heavy) turnout for the Berkhamsted Half Marathon, which saw well over 1000 runners complete the hilly course. First Harrier home was Sandra Reynolds in a great time of 1.29.48, which earned her first position in the F40 category.

She was followed home by Andrew Hickman (M45), with a great new PB time of 1.31.03; Kate Loach – 1.40.05 (a season’s best and second in the F50 category); Ash Holmes – 1.41.00 (a PB?); Robert Levin (M45) – 1.40.46; Tim Dutfield (M50) – 1.43.33 (a season’s best); Jonathan Clarke (M35) – 1.48.00 (yet another PB performance!); Laura Hayers – 1.49.53; Matt Channer – 1.57.54 (a PB by the sizeable margin of nearly 10 minutes!); Martin Allen (M50) – 1.58.18; Annelie Whitfield (F50) – 2.05.24 (a season’s best) and Reg Gilbert (M65) – 2.14.15 (also a season’s best!).
Elsewhere, Andrew Stewart took part in the Regent’s Park 10k, completing the race in a respectable 46.26 (a season’s best). Andrew is arguably one of CHAC’s most motivated runners: he has set himself a number of public targets for ten different distances to be achieved over 2015. His hope is to do a sub 44 minute 10k, so I hope you will join me in encouraging Andrew during Tuesday evening training sessions and races throughout the year.
