There were a further three Chilterns in the G race. Tommy Davies (U15) was just outside his PB with 2.14.97 but U17 Oliver Jackson with 2.16.12, and U13 Nathan Hackley with 2.19.05, both got new bests. The women’s C race saw U17 Scarlett Wager Leigh finish second with a season’s best of 2.17.59. In the E race U15 Soraya Lockwood shattered her previous best by almost five seconds, winning the race with a great turn of pace over the last 200m, recording 2.26.75. There were also several mixed races. U20 Hannah Thear had a solid run of 2.24.20 in the B race whilst U17 Sandie Pohlman showed her good recent form to record a new best of 2.26.42 in the D race.
In the 1500m races, siblings Angus and Orla Williams carried on their great seasons. In the women’s D race U13 Orla was competing against girls several years her senior. Orla ran excellently to be fourth and record a new best of 4.55.51. This puts Orla fifth on the national U13 rankings. Brother Angus (U15) ran in the men’s E race and took three seconds off his best to log 4.22.31, less than half a second away from English Schools qualifying. U17 Will Brown with 4.42.65 ran well in the F race, and twin George Brown won the G race in a new best of 4.41.96.
