There were individual wins for Angus Williams (U13 Boys), Will Perkin (U17 men) and Nick Hughes (Vet 40 men) and team wins for the U13 Boys and Junior women.
There were also medals for Orla Williams (U13 girls, silver), Millie Hughes (U13 girls, bronze), Tom Hunter (U13 Boys, silver), Robyn Watkins (U15 girls, bronze), Rachel Padwick (U17 women, silver), Hannah Thear (U17 women, bronze), and James Repper (Vet 40 men, bronze).
Under grey skies at Old Warden, the U13 girls were first to face the starter. In a closely fought contest, the scores ended up with Wycombe Phoenix on 14 points, Chiltern on 14 points and Milton Keynes on 17. Wycombe just won out due to their third scorer finishing ahead of Chiltern’s. Orla Williams had a great run to be silver medallist and Millie Hughes put her recent strong training form into good effect to win bronze. Chiltern’s third scorer was Year 6 girl Abbie Henderson, having a great run to be 9th. Other good runs came from Katie Repper (11th), Holly Henderson (12th), Jinaan Lockwood (14th), Laura Williams (15th) Carys Arnold (19th) and Jess Pullen (29th).
Chiltern’s Under 13 boys have been having a great season. They continued the trend with a convincing win on Saturday. Angus Williams won the race by a sizeable margin with Tom Hunter coming in second. Thomas Job was fourth and Zach Rahaman seventh to complete the scoring. Chiltern’s other finishers were Cormac Nisbet in 10th, Matt Clifford 13th, Luke Martin 20th, and Joe Day 21st.
Both Chiltern U15 teams finished in second place. For the girls Robyn Watkins (3rd), Soraya Lockwood (7th), and Beth Welham (10th) scored with Sandie Pohlman in 16th. For the boys Ben Smith (5th), Cameron Reid (7th), Tommy Davies (11th) and Ethan Hague (14th) were the scorers. Oliver Jackson in 19th and Phoenix Everiss in 24th completed the Chiltern presence.
The Junior women packed well with Rachel Padwick (second U17), Hannah Thear (third U17), and Maddy Lacey (fifth U17) combining to be the winning team. Also completing the tough 6k course for Chiltern were Orla Fawcett (7th), Jess Orr (9th) and Lizzie Barraclough (12th).
Chiltern’s U17 men ran well to be second with Will Perkin having a great run to win the race overall. Richard Slade also ran well to be fourth and the scoring was completed by Will Brown in 10th and Rob Hall in 12th. George Brown (14th), Harry Cox (16th) and Seb Mills (18th) also ran.
The Senior men had a variety of ages out and the scoring six who achieved second place were Simon Beedell (4th), James McCarthy (5th), Nick Hughes (8th), James Repper (15th), Peter Gould (19th), and Alastair Melville-Smith (25th). The Vets team of Nick, James, Alastair and David Breingan were also second, but with Nick and James winning gold and bronze individually. Martyn Cartwright was fourth in the Vet 60 age group.
The Senior women had a small team out and the threesome of Ellie Bates (9th), Natalie Baker (21st) and Barbara Ralph (24th) were third.
Also on Saturday Nathan Hackley had a very good run to be fourth in the Middlesex U13 boys championship race at Wormwood Scrubs.
