From the ten races there were five wins for Chiltern athletes and several runners have earned invites to take part for Bucks Schools in the English Schools Championships at Woollaton Park, Nottingham in early March.
The Year 5/6 boys race was another win for a Chiltern athlete with Matt Aldred holding off a strong challenge to win narrowly. Cormac Nisbet maintained his good season in third and Bailey Cameron in fourth and Harry Vintner in fifth also acquitted themselves well. Other Chilterns to run well in the 93-strong race were William Mayhew (8th), Oakley Denson (9th), Alfie Clifford (11th), Max Baxter (13th), Thomas Askey (21st), Raphael Baker (27th), Sammy Bennetts (31st), and Tim Lomax (32nd).

There were also good runs from Jinaan Lockwood (8th), Laura Williams (11th) and Katie Repper (12th). Alicia Bushell was 31st from the race total of 93.
The Minor Boys was one race with little Chiltern interest. Luke Martin was 16th and Finn O’Brien 21st but Zach Rahaman struggled with breathing issues and finished well down on expectations in 23rd. Gabriel Baker was 33rd and Ben Jackson 40th – there were 73 finishers.
The Junior (Years 8 and 9), Intermediate (Years 10 and 11) and Senior (Years 12 and 13) events act as selection races for the English Schools Championships and the Junior Girls (3.2K) event saw great runs from Year 8 girls Millie Hughes and Olivia Cameron to be third and fourth. This secured their places on the Bucks Schools team. Soraya Lockwood in ninth may also be required for the team. Bath Welham had to drop out through illness but Lily Holt (49th) and Isobel Swann (55th) both had solid runs.
Angus Williams was a first year in the Junior Boys race (3.8K) and did well to finish in third. For the Senior Girls Hannah Morton was the race winner with Claire Baxter having a good run to be 11th from 23 after a long lay-off from competition.
