Following parkrun, Tim Dawson, Matt Robins and Matt Channer thought that the best way to recover was to race to another race on Saturday 25 June: the brand new Misbourne 5k – a 5k trail run in Great Missenden. Chiltern Harriers AC were dominant. Peter Gould won the race in 20.08, followed closely by Justin Fowler in 20.16. David Saul was first V50 male in 25.08. Tim Dawson earned himself his first ever podium place – 2nd V40 male in 24,50 - and incredibly well-deserved. Well done, Tim! Matt Robins clocked 23.39 and Matt Channer - 27.33.
On Sunday 26 June six Chiltern Harriers AC athletes were running along a disused railway in Oxfordshire at the Thame 10k, others were organising the annual Junior Triathlon. Louise Durman stormed the fast course, finishing 2nd lady in 37.58. Not too far behind here were: Mike ‘Tiny’ Turney – 38.58 (3rd in the V50 category); Kinglsey Nanton – 39.33; Yours Truly – 40.36; David Breingan – 43.01 and Alan Hornibrook – 43.50.
