We’ll kick Race Report off with parkrun. New Harrier Mark Bruce was the fastest Chiltern runner in a parkrun event on Saturday 10 September, clocking a new PB of 17.42 and 5th place at Black Park. Ali Young was back in speedy form, coming in as 1st lady in 19.50. Joining them were: Mike Worsfold – 20.27; Matt Robins – 21.56; Matt Channer, who really is going from strength to strength at the moment, earning a new PB of 22.23; Tim Dawson – 23.50; Ian Lawson – 24.36; Beth Lang – 24.49 (her first time at Black Park and her fastest parkrun yet); Lorraine Pearce – 25.01; Matt Lawrence – 26.21; Sarah Gregory – 27.38; Miriam Kempson – 27.49; Caitlin Gregory – 28.32 (parkrun number 25); Shaheen Dent – 28.59; Paula Walker – 29.38 and Lily Gregory – 29.54.
Today, Sunday 11 September, Mairead O’Rourke and Andy Hickman completed the Two arms on two legs half marathon on the Grand Union Canal from Aylesbury. Unofficial results (aka Strava) show that Mairead finished in 1.29.50 and Andy, despite a problem with his back, managed a respectable 1.37.31.
And, finally, a late entry for James Repper. James completed the half Ironman 70.3 in Weymouth. James had a total time of 5.07.35: 33.20 for the swim; 2.52.27 for the bike and 1.32.17 for the run. Well done!
