In Tring brother and sister team Jonty (SM18-19) and Scarlett Wager-Leigh (JW15-17) were 1st and 10th overall, with times of 19.02 and 22.40. Scarlett also earned herself 2nd in the ladies race. Joining them in Tring Park were Nat Baker (VW35-39) – 26.59 – and Matt Channer (VM35-39) – 27.39.
… a quick word about Matthew Robins: not only did he finish 13th at Black Park, equalling his personal best time, he then went on to take part in the 10k Croxley Green Christmas Cracker (precisely one and a half hours later), where he proceeded to finish 4th male, with a time of 41.47… And then, if two races in one weekend were not sufficient, on Sunday 22nd November he took part in the Milton Keynes MoRun 10k and did a very respectable 42.32. An amazing feat, by anyone’s standards!
(Your Humble Reporter would also add that Matthew showed not only impressive endurance, but also undoubtedly chivalry this weekend, in allowing Your Humble Reporter to pip him to the post in Croxley Green, earning herself 2nd lady in 41.47.)
On 22nd November Kirstie Elliot ran an excellent PB in the Wimbledon Half Marathon, finishing 2nd in the V35 category in 1.32.22 and just making it into the top 100 runners as 99th over the line. Well done, Kirstie!
