As ever, we’ll kick off with parkrun from Saturday 12 March. Sian Thomas, Louise Durman and Ellie Bates were all ladies’ winners in their respective events at Northala Fields (18.33), Hastings (18.36 – a well-deserved 5k PB for Louise) and Worcester (19.24). Allan Stewart won at Cassiobury Park in 16.33, making him Saturday’s speediest Harrier.
On Sunday 13 March Susan Jarman, Tim Dawson and Matt Channer braved the Chiltern Warrior 10k obstacle race, held at the Chiltern Open Air Museum. Susan clocked a time of 51.35, a massive 15 minutes quicker than last year, Matt and Tim - 1.10.37. Trevor Lee-Poole and daughter Pom took part in the Great Horwood 5k, sporting fantastic outfits to raise money and awareness for mental health. Trevor was 2nd in 18.42. Further afield, Mark Fry and Paula Walker took part in the Salisbury 10 mile; Mark was chuffed with a credible time of 1.22.16 and Paula was not far behind in 1.42.59. Matthew Robins and Tamsin Finch braved the grueling Finchley 20 miles road race in preparation for the Milton Keynes Marathon. Matthew finished in an impressive 2.50.17, Tamsin - 3.28.39.
And finally, in sunnier climes Andy Wiseall completed the Barcelona Marathon, managing a time of 3.13.40, despite having struggled with injury over the last weeks. Well done, Andy!
