Will Perkin with 3.55.85 in the BMC Gold Standard 1500m ran a PB in the next part of the evening. Will’s time was inside the qualifying mark of 3.58 for Senior Boys 1500m for the English Schools Championships.
There were fifteen 800m races on a cool but still night, good conditions for racing.
U15 Millie Hughes ran a PB of 2.42.81 and V55 Andrew Stewart a season’s best 2.46.34.
Joe Day (U15) ran a PB of 2.41.06.
First year U13, Cormac Nisbet, won Race 3 in a PB of 2.33.35 as did Bailey Cameron with 2.43.64. Abbie Henderson was just outside her recently set best with 2.39.80.
U13 Matt Aldred had a good run to set a new best with 2.33.28.
U17 Oliver Jackson ran away with Race 5, winning with a PB of 2.19.31. Zach Rahaman (U13) also got a new best - 2.30.49. U15 Emily Alderson was just outside her best with 2.31.87.
U20 Hannah Morton won Race 6, a fraction outside her PB with 2.21.78.
U20 Hannah Thear, after a hard County Champs, ran 2.36.41.
Nathan Hackley (U13) continued his good streak of form with a new PB of 2.19.08, and U17 Scarlett Wager Leigh ran a season’s best of 2.19.72.
A battle on the first lap made it hard going on the second, but V45 Nick Hughes still came away with a PB of 2.12.95. U15 Tommy Davies ran a big PB of 2.14.10 and there were good times for U17 Harry Cox in 2.15.21 and Alex Aldred in 2.16.45.
U20 Richard Slade with 2.12.34 and U15 Angus Williams with 2.14.07 both ran new bests.
U17 Jake Alderson set a big new PB at the Herts Champs on Sunday and couldn’t quite replicate that time but still ran well for 2.06.55.
Senior Man Allan Stewart set a new best to come second in the final race of the night with 1.54.65.
