A grey and cool Marlow with a chilly wind and occasional drizzle provided not ideal conditions but there were some very good performances.
Ben Smith won the boys 1500m in 4.50.97 whilst Edward Watson had his first race of the season, recording 5.28. Harry Brandon won a double in the jumps with 4.17m in the long jump and 1.24m in the high jump. Harry was also second in the 100m. There was a Chiltern 1-2-3 in the javelin with Kristian Everiss taking gold ahead of Ben Smith and Phoenix Everiss; and the twins also had their first taste of 300m, with Phoenix second in 47.69, Kristian third in 48.54. Phoenix also squeezed in a win in the discus.
There was a win in the girls 100m for Ella Merten-Mancer in a good time of 13.38 and Maya Bhat posted a PB of 28.13 in winning the 200m. Sophie Morton won the girls 1500m in 5.04.94. Amber Hitchcock had a good run to win the hurdles in 12.91 and Jemima Taswell-Fryer was fourth in the 800m. Esme Deadman won both javelin and discus competitions.
Laura Williams and Orla Williams made the 75m final with Laura fourth and Orla sixth. In the 150m Olivia Scarles ran well to be second. Laura Williams was fifth, Isobel Swann sixth and Sophie Webb eighth. Orla Williams (2.43.64) and Laura Williams (2.44.98) both recorded PBs to be first and second in the 800m with Millie Hughes, Isobel Swann and Sophie Powell also running well. In the field Olivia Scarles won the javelin with a PB of 13.61m, whilst Merryn Sutaria was second in the shot. Abi Fountain was fourth in the hurdles.
There was a Chiltern 1-2 in the boys 200m with Tom Hunter winning out from Seb Porter. Rhys Arnold was fourth and Harry Tack seventh. In the 100m Ethan Smith and Max Dooley were fourth and fifth respectively. Tom Hunter scored another win in the 800m with Seb Porter third and Joe Day sixth. Angus Williams was an easy winner of the 1500m and there was a PB for Alex Aldred in fourth. Matt Clifford was sixth, Zach Rahaman seventh. There was a 1-2-3-4 in the long jump courtesy of Rhys Arnold, Seb Porter, Ethan Smith and Zach Rahaman and a win for Alex Aldred in the high jump. Harry Tack and James Watson were second and fifth in the 800m B race. Alex Aldred and Ewan Mayhew had an epic battle in the hurdles with Alex just taking the honours. Max Dooley was third.
Quadkids – Year 5
The Chiltern girls had a great day with Eleanor Mayhew emerging as the winner after four events – 75m, 600m, long jump and vortex howler throw. Her score of 196 put Eleanor just ahead of Carys Arnold with 195 in second and Abbie Henderson with 179 in third. Also doing well was Susannah Swann in ninth
The Year 5 boys event also saw a Chiltern winner in William Mayhew. Jacob Mellows was eighth but Matt Aldred had to pull out of the 600m so ended with an incomplete score.
Quadkids - Year 3/4
Gabrielle Riley was second and Frankie Baxter third after some excellent efforts –Gabrielle consistent across all disciplines, Frankie with an excellent 600m. Hannah Ashby was fifth, Rosa Williams sixth, Katie West seventh, Maddie Hughes eighth, Lesedi Nkoane ninth, and Chloe Henderson 13th to complete a great show by the young Chiltern girls.
William Alexander won the boys event with Seb Mellows fourth, Max Baxter sixth, Henry Garstang eighth, and Alex Hughes tenth.
