Under 13 Girls
The U13 girls scored more points than in the previous successful match. Sophie Webb and Lucia Gonzalez-Bohr looked after 75m and long jump. There were PBs for Olivia Scarles (21.7) and Mehma Bhandal (22.4) in the 150m, and in the 800m Orla Willams was second in A string and Alice Moffat second in B string. In the 1200m Olivia Cameron ran 4.17.9 in the A string and Laura Williams ran 4.18.7 to win the B string on their debuts in the event. Meadow Thomas and Trinity Stevens scored good points in the hurdles with a PB for Trinity of 13.6.
In the field Lily Holt jumped 1.30m in the high jump and there were PBs for Imogen Sharkey (18.48m) and Olivia Scarles (18.35m to win the B string) in the javelin.
There were A string wins for Sophie Morton in the 800m and Robyn Watkins (a PB of 5.00.1) in the 1500m. Beth Welham and Emily Alderson both scored well to be third in the B string versions. In the sprints Ella Merten-Mancer (13.0) and Wanessa Idec (PB of 13.9) ran well in the 100m and Maya Bhat and Mia Henson (PB of 27.6) were second and first respectively in the A and B 200 races. Sophie Morton and Joanna Lynch ran well in the 300m, both gaining PBs of 45.3 and 48.7 respectively.
Esme Deadman, Beth Welham and Maya Bhat took care of the throws. Mia Henson (4.54m) and Louise Lyons-Appiah (4.22m) both scored PBs in the long jump and Soraya Lockwood did well in the high jump.
Angus Williams ran with purpose to win the A string 800m in a PB of 2.19.0. Zach Rahaman got a PB in the B string to be third. There was a double win in the 1500m from Tom Hunter and Thomas Job (PB of 5.08.3). Oliver Ayres and Zach Rahaman ran well in the 100m and Thomas Job (2nd in the A string in 28.0) and Oliver Ayres (winning the B string in 27.8) both did a great job in the 200m. Christian Grint gained a PB of 12.9 in the 75m hurdles with Ewan Mayhew in the B string.
Angus Williams and Christian Grint both threw PBs (23.96m and 19.26m) in the javelin with Christian (PB of 7.48m) and Ewan looking after the shot. Oliver Ayres (4.31m) and Tom Hunter (4.02m) did well in the long jump. The relay team of Christian, Oliver, Zach and Louis Greenaway came third.
Almost every performance by the U15 boys was a PB but up against top class opposition, points were hard to come by. Felix Hale and Nikau Harden ran PBs in the 100m – 12.5 and 13.5 respectively. Felix and Calvin Stevens got PBs in the 200m of 25.7 and 27.4 and there were further new marks set by Harry Russell (42.8) and Redford Denson (44.4) in the 300m. Redford set a PB of 2.21.7 in the A string 800m as did Tommy Davies in winning the B string in 2.24.1. Cameron Reid and Ben Smith both ran well in the 1500m (4.42 and 4.45) but that only placed them fourth and third in their respective strings.
Ethan Kidd had a very good day, setting PBs in 80m hurdles (12.6) and high jump (1.65m) before leading off the 4 x 300m relay team. In the throws Nikau Harden, Oliver Jackson, Phoenix Everiss and Harry Russell all contributed well and there was further help in the jumps from Harry Brandon, Felix Hale and Tommy Davies.
