After coming seventh at the first match earlier in the month, a strengthened and rejuvenated team of U13 and U15 athletes were second, well clear of Chelmsford and Brighton in equal third. RESULTS
Under 13 Girls
The U13 girls had another solid day. Olivia Scarles ran a PB in the 150m of 22.67 and also gained a PB of 16.00m in the javelin. Sophie Webb, and Lucia Gonzalez-Bohr ran PBs in the 75m of 11.45 and 11.49 respectively and Sophie added a solid effort in the B string long jump. Meadow Thomas (12.98) and Trinity Stevens (14.00) ran well in the hurdles.
Laura Williams was third in the A string 800m with a good time of 2.40.31 with Millie Hughes running the B string. Orla Williams and Alice Moffat both gained PBs in the 1200m of 4.18.31 and 4.21.02 respectively. In the field Katie Stocker set a PB of 4.00m to be third in the long jump. Meadow Thomas (1.25m) and Olivia Scarles (1.10m) took care of high jump. Trinity Stevens and Millie Hughes did well in shot and Millie backed up Olivia in the javelin. Katie Stocker (11.27) and Mehma Bhandal (11.50) set PBs in the non-scoring 75m and teamed up with Sophie and Lucia for the relay.
Under 15 Girls
With several key athletes returning to the team, the U15 girls had a superb day. Ella Merten-Mancer ran a huge PB of 12.83 to win the 100m A string with Maya Bhat gaining a PB of 13.13 to win the B string. Maya was also second in the A string 200m in 27.38, with Mia Henson winning the B string in 28.07. Sandie Pohlman was second in the A string 800m and fourth in the A string 300m. Charlotte Munn won the B string 800m in style in a PB of 2.28.29, and there was a double win in the 1500m from Sophie Morton and Robyn Watkins.
Ella Broadfield set PBs in B string hurdles (13.12) and 300m (47.84); Amber Hitchcock earned good points in hurdles and gained PBs in shot (8.35m) and discus (15.48); and Esme Deadman threw well in A string discus (20.53m) and javelin. Louise Lyons-Appiah, Holly Martin and Emily Milner took care of the jumps and the 4 x 100m relay team of Louise, Ella, Mia and Maya ran a great time of 52.77 to be narrowly second. Jemima Taswell-Fryer and Beth Welham ran well in the non-scoring 800m and Jemima, Charlotte, Sophie and Lauren Armstrong ran well to be third in the 4 x 300m relay. Mia Henson (13.31) Lauren Armstrong (14.04) and Joanna Lynch (14.65) set PBs in the non-scoring 100m.
Under 13 Boys
The U13 Boys again contributed with excellent points. Angus Williams won the A string 800m, Tom Hunter the A string 1500m, and Christian Grint the A string 75m hurdles. Christian was also second in the A string shot. Alex Aldred won the B string 1500m and debutants Finbar Blount and Oliver Ayres were competitive in the sprints. Nathan Hackley was second in the B string 800m and Ethan Smith did well in the A string long jump and high jump. Zach Rahaman ran a PB of 2.45.18 in the non-scoring 800m and was third in B string long jump. Matt Clifford also ran well in the n/s 800m. Several boys chipped in with good points in the field events. Ethan, Oliver, Zach and Finbar ran very well in the 4 x 100m relay to be second.
Under 15 Boys
Siddhant Dey won both A string discus (31.87m) and shot (10.46m) and was second in the hammer to give the U15 boys a good start in the field. Kristian Everiss and Phoenix Everiss were down on their normal high level in the javelin but Kristian was second in the B string hammer and set a PB in the high jump to make amends, and Phoenix pitched in with second in the B string discus, and a PB of 5.09.34 in the B string 1500m.
Felix Hale ran PBs of 12.82 and 26.19 in the A string sprints backed up by Calvin Stevens and Harry Russell. Cameron Reid (2.18.80) and Redford Denson (PB of 2.23.84) scored a double second place in the 800m and Ben Smith helped out with good points in A string 1500m, B string shot, and B string high jump. Monty Weatherall scored well in the A string hurdles and long jump and Calvin, Siddhant, Monty and Felix ran excellently to win the 4 x 100m relay in a great time of 51.89. The 4 x 300m team of Redford, Kristian, Harry and Cameron ran well to be fourth in a season’s best 3.03.3.
