Under 15 Girls
Sade Wallace made a great club debut with a win in A string discus (21.74m) and also contributed in A string shot and B string hurdles. Another debutant Jane Williamson ran her first 1500m race doing very well to be third in the A string in 5.06.5. Beth Welham had an excellent day with three PBs. Beth won both B string discus (16.74m) and javelin (19.14m) and was second in B string 1500m with a five second PB of 5.10.3.
Soraya Lockwood and Emily Alderson both had solid runs in the 800m, and Soraya gained a high jump PB of 1.35m to be fourth in the A string. Katie Stocker had a good match in A string hurdles, long jump and 100m, and the other sprints were taken care of by Mehma Bhandal and Katie Dyer both getting PBs in the 200m. Holly Martin and Alice Moffat got 300m PBs and Holly also did well in high jump and long jump. Millie Hughes had an excellent match with second place in A string hammer (PB of 19.25m) and javelin (PB of 24.85m) and second in B string shot. Both relay teams ran season’s bests.
Under 15 Boys
The U15 boys continue to perform well at league matches with a large pool of athletes to choose from. The race of the day was the 1500m with three boys gaining English Schools qualifying times, including Chiltern’s Cameron Reid, third in 4.22.00. Alex Aldred won the B string in a new PB of 4.42.50. The 800m also provided good points for Chiltern with Angus Williams, impressive in winning the A string in 2.09.10. Thomas Job was second in the B string in 2.17.1.
Louis Greenaway, Finbar Blount, Felix Hale, Oliver Ayres and Harry Russell did a good job in the sprints with a 300m PB for Felix in the 300m of 41.00. Harry also won B string shot with 7.58m. Sam Turner-O’Toole and Harry Brandon did well in hurdles and high jump, with Sam winning the A string high jump in a PB of 1.53m. Sam also performed well in A string shot. Kristian Everiss gained a great javelin PB of 33.90m with brother Phoenix also throwing well for second in the B string with 28.16m. Alex Burn scored useful points in hammer and discus and ran a good time in non-scoring 100m. Felix Hale and Oliver Ayres did well in long jump. The 4 x 300m team of Alex Burn, Harry Russell, Cameron Reid and Rhys Arnold ran a season’s best 2.49.6 to be second.
Under 13 Girls
Orla Williams had another superb run, winning the A string 1200m in a pB of 3.52.2, fifth on the national rankings. Holly Henderson was second in the B string with a PB of 4.19.4. In the 800m Laura gained aPB of 2.32.8 to eb third and Abbie Henderson won the B string with a PB of 2.38.1. In the sprints Elaenor Mayhew continued the PB trend, third in the 75m in 10.60, but winning the 150m in 20.70. Carys Arnold did her usual job of collecting points in javelin (second in 17.34m), high jump and long jump, and there were useful contributions from Charlotte Hilton, Alicia Bushell and Alice Brown.
Under 13 Boys
The U13 boys kept the points ticking over, James Spicer doing well in both A string sprints and high jump. Cormac Nisbet and Matt Aldred ran well in the 1500m, both gaining PBs (5.07.3 and 5.08.0) with Matt winning the B string. Zach Rahaman did well in A string 800m and B string 100m, and Gabriel Baker made a good debut, winning the B string 800m. William Shield, Luke Martin, Ben Jackson, Bailey Cameron and William Mayhew all made useful contributions across a range of events.
