A hot afternoon with a head wind down the home straight made fast times tricky but there were many good performances nevertheless.
Under 20 men
There were A string wins for Dan Weathers in both 400m hurdles and 2000m steeplechase. B string wins came courtesy of Seb Mills (200m, PB of 24.4), David Clark (3000m), David Thomas (2000m steeplechase, PB of 7.27.6 in his debut in the event), and Kai McKenzie (long jump).
As always Josh Parry did well in the A string sprints, second in both, Tim Rogers ran a good 50.3 for second in the A string 400m and Peter Finn, David Clark and David Thomas looked after the middle distance. Louis Simmons did well in shot and discus and Kai, David Clark and Dan Weathers helped out with the jumps. Morgan Hiles joined Kai, Josh and Tim to be second in the 4 x 100m relay and Peter, Tim, David Clark and Fraser Kilsby were second in the 4 x 400m relay.
Under 20 women
A string wins cam from Hannah Thear (800m), Rachel Padwick (1500m), Emily Smith (100m hurdles and 400m hurdles), and Megan Styles (1500m steeplechase and triple jump), and there were B string wins for Sandie Pohlman (800m) and Megan Styles (400m hurdles). Rochelle Jack did a great job covering all the throws. Ella Merten-Mancer, Lois Warne and Emily Smith looked after the short sprints.
Under 17 men
A small team did well with Morgan Hiles (100m, 200m, shot), Fraser Kilsby (100m, shot, javelin), Ben Layne (200m, 400m, long jump) Seb Mills (400m), Jake Alderson (400m hurdles, high jump, 800m) and Finn Bell (800m, 1500m, javelin) all working hard through the afternoon. Seb added to his 200m PB in the U20 race with an U17 B string win in a new PB and U17 club record of 51.6. Ben won the A string in 52.5. Fraser won A string shot with 12.00m. Finn, Seb, Jake and Ben combined to win the 4 x 400m relay.
Under 17 women
Scarlet Storr excelled, looking good in winning both 80m hurdles and 300m hurdles. Maya Bhat, Charlotte Bellamy, Louise Lyons-Appiah, and Maisie Pennant looked after the sprints. Robyn Watkins was second in A string 800m and 1500m, and there were B string second places for Sandie Pohlman (800m) and Jess Orr (1500m). Ella Merten-Mancer and Louise Lyons-Appiah were second in the A and B string long jumps respectively. Ella, Louise, Maya and Charlotte won the U17 4 x 100m relay comfortably, and there was a further relay win from Charlotte, Sandie, Robyn and Maisie in the 4 x 300m.
Andrea Styles and Steve Perkin have been the team managers this season and the officials team of Sally Delgado, Anne Underwood, Doug Smith, Richard Neale, Caitlin Neale, Lawrie Thomas, Mike Storr and Martyn Cartwright have kept the team officials points at the maximum level.
