Congratulations are more than due to a number of our young athletes this weekend. Challoner’s boys and girls were crowned national champions at the English School’s Athletic Association Cross Country Cup Final yesterday at Sevenoaks, Kent, in the juniors’ race. In the Inter race, the boys came out as silver medalists and the girls – bronze. An all-round stunning performance. As the Chairman of ESAA said, there is something in the water in the Chilterns.
Good afternoon everyone! 1st October seems to have been the day for 10k running in the Chilterns, with loads of local races taking place on Sunday 1 October.
Race Report 2 - 3 September: parkrun, Maverick, Rat Race, Maidenhead Half, Bovingdon 10k and Stragglers Marathon Relay
After a few quieter weeks of Summer running, the first weekend in September was a busy one for Chiltern Harriers, with club members taking part in a real variety of events right across the country.
t’s another super sporty weekend, with the British Grand Prix just kicking off, Wimbledon final and, more importantly, some epic Harriers performances in races both short and (very) long.
Starting at the short end of the scale, Allan Stewart was the fastest parkrunning Harrier of the day on Saturday 15 July, scooping up 1st place at Cassiobury Park in a time of 15.51, whilst young Lesedi Nkoane was 1st female in a PB time of 20.24 (an age grading of 83.66%, actually higher than Allan’s). Lesedi was joined by her mum Bex (20.25) and by Lyn Mellor (23.27).
Hi all! Hope you are having a lovely weekend. Well done to those who took part in a hot Southern Athletics League yesterday.
This weekend seems to have been a relatively quiet one for races, so we’ll start off with a short bit of parkrun news from last weekend, when father and son, Glen and Luke Martin both earned themselves PBs at Rickmansworth (respective times of 20.14 and 22.02).
Good evening, Race Report fans! Race Report coming to you less-than-alive from the sofa. Well done to everyone that was racing this weekend, I know there were some great runs at the Misbourne 5k, parkruns, Ashridge Trail Half Marathon, Bushey 10k and Regents Park 10k. I’ll look to cover those in coming editions.
"Gimme Summer Runnin" 24 - 25 June: Midnight Sun Marathon, Race to the King, parkrun, Thame 10k and Beat the Boat
First things first, a massive thank you and well done to Steve Field for delivering yet another successful Junior Tri today. There were a number of Harriers competing (and on the podium), as well as a small army of volunteers. Well done to everyone. Full results are here. Also, a belated well done to Lean Ni Chiobhain, who ran the stunning Midnight Sun Marathon in Tromsø, Norway, last weekend in 3.38.53.
Race Report 8 - 9 April: parkrun, Flitwick 10k, Grand Union Canal Half Marathon, the Brighton Marathon & South Downs Way 50
I hope that all of you Race Report fans have been enjoying the sunshine this weekend, as I have.
We’ll kick things off this weekend with a big well done to Simon Beedell, who completed his first ever ultra marathon on Saturday 8 April. Si conquered the South Downs Way 50, a 50-mile race that takes competitors along the South Downs Way from Worthing to Eastbourne, in 6.54.53, finishing in a brilliant 4th place. Well done!
Race Report 11 - 12 March: Amersham Ultra, parkrun, Dash in the Dark, Bledlow Ridge Off Roader and the Silverstone Half Marathon
Good afternoon Race Report fans! I hope you have been enjoying a lovely weekend.
We’ll kick things off with the results from the first ever Humanity Direct Amersham Ultra, held on Saturday 11 March.
