Chiltern Harriers took 2nd place in the men’s competition, with neighbouring club Gade Valley Harriers taking the top spot. But Chiltern ladies were victorious in the women’s competition. Well done everyone!

Over to other races this week, and Michael Turney enjoyed great conditions at St Neots half marathon, finishing in a great time of 1:23:33. Meanwhile, Andrew Stewart took part in the Chelmsford 10k (44:41) and Ruth Holdroyd was feeling festive at the Croxley Christmas Cracker 10k (52:51).
Gluttons for punishment, Matt C and Matt R, yet again took part in the Phoenix Firebird Marathon on the bank of the Thames. Having never run a marathon before 2017, Matt C has now completed SEVEN this year, and finished this one in 3:55:06. He was closely followed by Matt R, who reached the finish line in 3:55:18. Well done, you two!
Finally, turning to Parkrun; over 30 Harriers were out bright and early on Saturday morning, with Pete Yates the only one to bag a PB of 21:29 at Northala Fields in North London. Well done to everyone else for leaving the cosiness of your beds!
