Good Evening Race Report fans! I hope you enjoyed some sunny runs this weekend, just as I did.
Good Evening Race Report fans. I hope that you have managed to stay warm and dry this weekend (and if you haven’t that at least that was for a good cause… like running.)
One Harrier who must have got thoroughly drenched, but for a very good cause, was Dave Howells. Dave completed the London ‘Shine Night Walk’ last night – a night-time marathon stroll through the streets of London in aid of Cancer Research UK. His time was 9hrs34. If you want to sponsor Dave you can, by clicking here.
Chiltern Harriers young endurance runners got their winter season off to a good start at Crystal Palace on Sunday in the Southern Road Relay Championships.
The highlight were silver medals for the U13 girls team but most age groups A teams finished in the top ten. Conditions were poor with heavy rain and several substantial puddles to negotiate on the fast 3.1k circuit of Crystal Palace Park. The start and finish area was in the Crystal Palace athletics track which made for a good atmosphere.
Happy Shardeloes Day everyone! Before we get down to the hard graft of Race Report, a well-deserved congratulations goes to Race Director Matt ‘the medal’ Robins for pulling off yet another brilliant Shardeloes 10k today, complete with sunshine. Well done, Matt, and to all of the volunteers for creating such an enjoyable event.
Good Evening Race Report fans. I hope you have had a very enjoyable weekend. As ever, Chiltern Harriers AC athletes have been chalking up some great results at events across the country.
Chiltern Harriers certainly hit the ground running for ‘back to school’, with a number of events taking place over the first weekend of September. Some short and some (very) long. However, before we even get to September and this weekend, a mention is definitely due to Simon Beedell who completed the OCC (or the baby sister of the Ultra-Trail du Mont-Blanc) on Thursday 30 August. Simon tackled almost 35 miles and over 10,000(!) ft of elevation in 7.34.48.
