Good Evening, Race Report fans. Before we start this week’s report, I’m sure you will all like to join me in welcoming Sofia Esme Fry, daughter of our very own Louise and Shaun, to the world. Sofia is already planning her Harriers debut. All our love to all three of you!
Hello Race Report fans! I hope you have enjoyed a nice break over the last three weeks (I certainly have), and heartfelt congratulations to all those who have been racing. It’s a relatively short report this week to ease your way back in. Before we get embroiled in this week’s results, a belated congratulations to Christine Burroughs and Caroline Stephens who completed the Valencia Marathon in PB-style last weekend (3.29.58 and 3.52.05, respectively).
Twenty-eight Chiltern Harriers athletes have been selected to take part for Buckinghamshire (or Hertfordshire) in the high standard Southern Inter Counties Cross Country Championships at Oxford on Saturday.
The highest level cross country race of the season so far for junior cross country runners in the south took place at Oxford Horspath on Saturday.
The Southern Inter-County Cross Country Championships features thirteen of the strongest counties in the south, racing in the U13, U15, and U17 age groups.
There were twenty-seven Chiltern Harriers running in total, the biggest representation of any of the Buckinghamshire clubs.
The weather was cool and grey and a strong wind added to the challenges for the runners.
