Race Report 2 - 3 September: parkrun, Maverick, Rat Race, Maidenhead Half, Bovingdon 10k and Stragglers Marathon Relay
After a few quieter weeks of Summer running, the first weekend in September was a busy one for Chiltern Harriers, with club members taking part in a real variety of events right across the country.
What a day, a little on the warm side ( could be the understatement of the day ).
We did our club proud on the day, lots of good efforts in extreme conditions. The ethos of our club entry held up, we were never likely to win, however each runner gave it their best effort. Out of the 41 teams competing we finished a creditable 34th. The same position as last year albeit it an hour or slow slower than last year.
Twelve Chiltern Harriers representing Dr Challoner’s Grammar School took part in the King Henry VIII School, Coventry Relays last Wednesday.
After an eleven year gap away from the event, the DCGS teams did well, coming eighth and twenty-third respectively from the fifty-one competing teams.
