Those competing on Saturday had by far the best of the conditions. Angus Williams ran in a straight final of the U17 men’s 1500m and had a solid run to be eighth in 4.08.48. Alex Johnson ran in a heat of the U17 men’s 800m and had a good run, despite a couple of weeks away from training, to be sixth in 2.02.87.
Louis Peterson ran in the U15 boys 1500m heat and had a solid run to be eleventh in 4.37.37. On Sunday heavy rain and strong wind made for difficult conditions. Millie Hughes was making her debut in this level of competition and was 20th in the U17 women’s javelin with a throw of 24.51m.
