Joining Mairead were: David Saul (23.23); Tom Ayres (25.57); Christine Moore (first time at Ricky – 26.40); Lesley Perkin (26.57 – also a Ricky debut); Angela Hughes (29.03); Paula Walker (29.27) and Howard Cave (31.54). Sunday 25 June saw the running of the popular Thame 10k event. Louise Durman was the first Harrier home and second lady, with a time of 38.49. Mike Turney was not too far behind in 39.09. Coming in just over 40 minutes were Shaun Fry (40.02), Neil Bates (40.49) and Dave Breingan (41.29). Lui Fra took part in the first ever ‘Beat the Boat’ 10k, organised by Runface and Datchet Dashers. The event saw runners follow an out and back course along the Thames, with not only other runners to contend with, but a target pace boat full of friends and spectators, racing you back to the finish line. Lui recorded an impressive time of 38.14 (on strava) – apparently 5mins quicker than he was this time last year.
