A belated congratulations first of all to Bex Nkoane, who won in the standard distance duathlon (10k run, 44k bike, 5k run) at the 3rd of the Ashridge Duathlon series events last week on 30 April.
The Marlow 5 (mile) was the event of the day today, Sunday 7 May. Mark Bruce was the first Harrier home, finishing 3rd in his age category with a speedy time of 28.05. Louise Durman, back from injury, was 2nd lady in 30.44; whilst fiancé Shaun Fry also put in a strong performance of 32.26. Joining them were: David Breingan (32.40); Ade McCormack (34.06) and Matt Robins (34.30). Well done guys.
And finally, thank you to all who came along to the second Social Event & Awards Evening last night, which took place at Amersham & Chiltern Rugby Club. It was a great evening and congratulations again to all of the prize-winners. The raffle made a fabulous £256 in aid of local charity Arctic One Foundation. If you would like to support Arctic One further, why not sponsor Chesham Mayor Noel Brown to take the plunge into the Moor Swimming Pool on 13 May.
COMING UP LOCALLY: Prestwood 10k, Brooks Last Friday of the Month, the Chilter Chase and Run the Rock 5 and 10k. Check out the Club Calendar for more.
