Kicking things off in style on 7 July, there were parkrun debutants out alongside a centurion at Wycombe Rye. Marea Logan and Savarnah Pandya both completed their first ever parkruns (22.20 and 25.16, respectively), whilst Mike ‘Tiny’ Turney completed parkrun number 100 in a speedy 18.59. There was a course PB for Oliver Webb (24.34, Aylesbury) and an equalled course PB for Luke Martin (19.46, Rickmansworth). Finally, the combined powers of father and son George and Max Baxter earned overall PBs at Rickmansworth. Max came home in a rather rapid 19.12, George in 24.55. Well done all!
Moving on to Sunday 8 July, Allan Stewart blew the rest of the field away at the Run Through Olympic Park 5k, winning the event by almost 4 minutes, in a time of 15.24 (just short of his parkrun PB). Mairead O’Rourke was also in winning form at the Run Wexham 10k, coming in as first female in a time of 42.56. Tim Dawson completed the event in a respectable 48.50 (strava time). And finally, down in Bath Neil Bates took part in the Two Tunnels Half Marathon event, clocking a time of 1.35.46 (and thoroughly enjoying the race). Incidentally, it turns out former Harrier Eddie O'Gorman was also there. Eddie finished 6th in the 10k, representing City of Salisbury AC, in a time of 36.00.
