Conditions were not ideal with cooler temperatures and some wind and rain to contend with. However, Cameron Reid and Angus Williams both won medals in the U17 age group – a good achievement at this high level.
Cameron ran in the 800m and won his heat on Saturday in 2.00.30. In the final on Sunday a fairly modest first lap of 62 seconds gave way to a hard sprint for the line and Cameron finished second in 1.59.59. Cam will compete for England Midlands in the School Games at Loughborough in a couple of weeks time.
Angus had a comfortable heat on Saturday, qualifying easily in 4.25.93. The final on Sunday saw a grey, drizzly day but Angus ran well to come third in a good time of 4.08.33.
In the U15 Age Group Orla Williams had a straight final on Saturday and was sixth in 4.54.97.
Taking advantage of the new U13 age group John Broadis took part in 100m and 200m time trials, and long jump. Up against top opposition John ran 14.95 and 30.35 in a big minus wind and jumped a good 4.37m. Rosa Williams ran 2.40.72 in 800m.
