Of the five athletes competing four came home with top-three finishes. Mild, still weather provided good conditions for the middle distance runners taking part.
Also on Saturday Cameron Reid comfortably qualified for the final of the Under 17 men’s 800m, second in his heat in 2.03.68. In the final on Sunday the race was steady until the final 300m and Cameron had another great run to be bronze medallist in 2.00.48, just a tenth away from second.
Saturday also saw Olivia Cameron qualify in second place in her heat of the Under 15 girls 1500m in 4.54.94. In Sunday’s final Olivia was eighth in 5.00.86.
