To kick off Race Report this week, we’ll take a brief sojourn to sunny Switzerland, where Fabe Downs was victorious in the St Gallen Auffahrtslauf half marathon on Thursday 15 May. Fabe clocked a new course record by four minutes, with a time of 1.11.48. Well done!
On Sunday 28 May Louise Durman was first lady in the hilly Rye 10 Mile race in East Sussex in humid conditions, whilst Chiltern’s juniors were pounding the London streets in the Junior British Athletics One Mile Road Championships (held in conjunction with the Vitality Westminster Mile) . Will Perkin was 7th overall and 2nd in the U20 category, with a rapid time of 04.23. Angus Williams, U15, was not far behind in 04.43. Also in the U15 category, Alex Aldred clocked a time of 05.03; Cormac Nisbet (U13) was 20 seconds faster than last year with a time of 05.20; Matt Aldred (also U13) – 05.26; Orla Williams was 4th in the U13 girls race in a time of 05.29; whilst Rosa Williams was 7th in the U11 category with a time of 05.57.
And finally, in the Vitality London 10,000 on Bank Holiday Monday, 29 May, David Breingan was 50th overall in the V50-54 age category, with a time of 41.43.
