James McCarthy ran in the BMC Gold Standard part of the evening and achieved 1.50.56 in the Men’s A race – a season’s best.
There were 20 open meeting 800m races and a very big turnout from Chiltern, with a high proportion of PBs set.
U13 Isaac Jessop-Tranter won Race 2 in a PB of 2.33.93 and led home a clutch of U13 PBs. Sammy Bennetts ran 2.34.23 to be second and Charlie Ventress set a huge PB of 2.34.35 to be fourth. U13 girls Hannah Ashby and Maddie Hughes were also in PB form with 2.36.02 and 2.41.82 respectively. U17 Millie Hughes ran a season’s best 2.41.38.
Race 3 saw Senior Man Aran Davidson back on the track after a very long absence and he won the race with 2.23.65. Under 15 girl Alicia Bushell ran a PB of 2.30.61 as did U13 Leon Doran with 2.32.05.
Under 13s Lesedi Nkoane (2.33.45) and Max Baxter (2.33.90) both ran well, just outside PB figures and U17 Emily Alderson set a season’s best of 2.35.40.
U13 Frankie Baxter was a little outside her PB with 2.33.17.
U20 Sophie Morton ran a season’s best 2.22.25 in this one.
Under 15 boys Matt Aldred (2.17.59) and Tom Emery (2.20.05) were on PB form in Race 8.
U15 Charlie Stone set a big PB to match Matt’s - 2.17.59.
Tom Hunter (U17) logged another Chiltern win with a strong front run. He earned a PB of 2.08.06.
U20 Richard Slade ran his first 800m for a while and recorded 2.09.23.
In form U15 Nathan Hackley ran another good race to finish with 2.08.87.
After a short Chiltern gap in the programme, three U17 men all came at once and all went under two minutes. In a tightly bunched race Alex Aldred was just outside his recently set best with 1.59.35. Alex Johnson went under 2 for the first time with 1.59.61 and Tommy Davies was right behind with 1.59.83.
U17 Angus Williams ran a measured race and agonisingly finished on 2.00.00 – still a good PB.
U20 Adam Day and U17 Cameron Reid both set season’s bests to be third and fourth with 1.56.81 (PB for Adam) and 1.57.68 respectively.
Senior Man Allan Stewart finished well to be third in 1.55.96 and U20 Harry Cox, in a bid for a PB was just outside with 1.57.74.
