The following Watford Open 1500m races produced a host of PBs for the Chiltern youngsters taking part.
First year U13 girl Hannah Ashby ran a with maturity to run an impressive debut time of 5.29.86. Fellow U13 Maddie Hughes ran a good 5.52.36 on her debut.
Second year U13s Abbie Henderson and Holly Henderson both ran PBS with 5.17.29 and .17.68 respectively. U15 Joe Day ran a big PB of 5.18.52. U15 girl Jinaan Lockwood also PB’d with 5.21.87 and Millie Hughes made a solid season debut with 5.24.32.
Under 15s Matt Clifford and Olivia Cameron both ran PBs in this - 5.11.79 and 5.11.86 respectively.
Under 13 Matt Aldred ran strongly to log a new PB of 4.56.74. Just behind were U17 Robyn Watkins with 4.56.92 and U20 Hannah Thear with 4.56.93, both season’s bests. Tom Emery (U13) also ran well to dip under five minutes for the first time with 4.59.91.
Woody Jackson (U13) was slightly off his best with 4.56.63.
Louis Peterson (U15) ran a PB of 4.52.92.
Oliver Jackson (U17) won this one with a big PB of 4.36.23.
Under 20 Will Brown ran strongly for a new best of 4.26.28 and U15 Thomas Job also took a lot of last year’s time with 4.31.59.
Sam Howell (U20) ran well for new PB of 4.18.52 and Cameron Reid (U17) was not far behind with 4.21.62. Under 15 Alex Aldred was just outside English Schools qualifying with 4.23.58 and U23 George Gillingwater ran 4.28.36.
Chiltern’s second English Schools time of the evening came from Angus Williams (U15) who ran a new best of 4.18.52. Not far behind was Richard Slade with a new best of 4.21.85. Harry Cox (U20) also bagged a PB with 4.31.05.
