There were many good performances amongst the youngsters but the highlight was a very fast Under 13 boys 1500m, which put Woody Jackson and Cormac Nisbet high up on the national rankings.
Other good runs in the middle distances came form Rhys Arnold (first in 2.18.70), Louis Peterson (second in 2.25.14) and Zach Rahaman (third in 2.35.83) in the U15 boys 800m. There were PBs for Matt Aldred (first in 2.30.36) and Tom Emery (second in 2.30.98) in the U13 boys 800m and Carys Arnold (first in 2.43.29) and Alice Brown (second in 2.44.78) in the U13 girls 800m. Laura Williams won the U15 girls 800m in 2.36.65 with Erin Pitts getting a PB of 2.49.52.
Matt Clifford ran well for a PB of 5.12.22 in the U15 boys 1500m to be second, and there were great efforts from first year U13 girls Rosa Williams (third in 4.10.94) and Hannah Ashby (fourth in 4.14.90) in a high quality U13 girls 1200m.
On the sprint side, wins and PBs came for Louis Greenaway with first place in both 100m (12.44) and 200m (25.05). Eleanor Mayhew ran a strong 150m in 20.93, and there were good debuts for Gaby Riley (23.17) and Jemma Thomson (23.20) in the same event. Tom Emery added to his 800m run with third place in the 200m in 30.44. Imogen Hunt Cooke (14.58) Freya Guneratne (14.89) and Lucia Gonzalez Bohr (14.91) all ran well in the U15 girls 100m. Louis Hunt ran 48.74 in his 300m debut.
In the field Carys Arnold won the U13 girls javelin with 16.10m, Imogen, Freya and Lucia all went over 4m in the U15 girls long jump, and Will Mayhew was second in the U13 boys long jump with 4.07m. Rhys Arnold won the U15 boys long jump with 4.69m. Gaby Riley, Eleanor Mayhew and Jemma Thomson were second, third and fourth respectively in the U13 girls long jump. Caitlin Gregory was second in the U13 girls shot with 5.26m.
Those in Years 3, 4 and 5 had a Quadkids competition and there were medals for Charlie Ventress with bronze in the Year 5 event with Alfie Clifford just behind in fourth. Lesedi Nkoane won silver in the Year 5 girls event, featuring an impressive 1.58 600m, and Lily Jessop-Tranter won silver in the Year 3-4 girls section.
Other good Quadkids efforts came from Freddie Emery, Jowan Horner, Ethan McCall, Marea Logan, and Marlie Nkoane.
