On Sunday 4 September Chiltern Harriers AC had its first ever team in the Stragglers River Relay – a five-part marathon relay, which sees teams run from Windsor to Kingston-upon-Thames, and with all proceeds going to charities. The team was made up of Tim Dawson, Paul Pearce, Laura Hayers, Matt Robins and Matt Channer. Total time of 3 hours 13 minutes (exactly as they predicted).
Finally, a number of Chiltern Harriers AC were in action in the annual Maidenhead Half Marathon today, 4 September. Nick Hughes was an astounding 6th, 3rd in the V40 category, with a time of 1.15.10. Mike ‘Tiny’ Turney was 6th in the V50 category in 1.25.49, joined swiftly by Nathan Taylor – 1.26.19. Joining them were: Kingsley Nanton – 1.29.28; Tom Powell with a new PB of 1.34.16; Alan Hornibrook – 1.35.48; Kate Loach – who was delighted with 2nd in the V50 category and a new PB of 1.35.55; Ian Lawson – 1.37.43; Martin Allen – 2.05.29 and. Tony Molesworth – 2.14.39
