In the Boys’ 9-10 competition the top three were Bailey Cameron (6mins59), Cormac Nisbet (7mins01) and Matthew Aldred (7mins22). The winning team was Fast & Fury, made up of Alex Jackson, Nathan Heasman and Elliot Miller, who clocked a total time of 28mins48. Maddie Hughes was the first of the Hughes family winners in the Girls’ 9-10 race. Maddie finished in 7mins35 and was joined on the podium by Scarlett Lewis (7mins38) and fellow ‘Super Girl’ Hannah Ashby (7mins40). Rosa Williams made up the third Super Girl to win the trio the team prize in 23mins56.
In the 11-12 year-old competition James Rayner was 1st amongst the boys in 10mins38. 2nd place went to Joseph Fuller (10mins47), 3rd to James Bailey (11mins30). Aston All Stars were champions in the team competition: Charlie Montero, Matthew Foster and Oliver Webb got round in a combined time of 38mins45. In the girls’ race we saw the second Hughes victory for Millie (10mins42); 2nd place went to Olivia Cameron (10mins56) and 3rd to Adel Zakrzewski (11mins30). The combined talents of Millie, Olivia and Alex Lawman made up the winning ‘Golden Girls’ team (34mins04).
The 13-14 boys’ race was won by Oliver Jackson (14mins54), with Charlie Scott (15mins11) and Angus Williams (16mins05) not too far behind. The top three girls were Amber Restall (14mins56), Magdalena Rospedzihowska (15mins33) and Amy Stoker (16mins01). Amber and Magda were joined at the last minute by friend Heather McAlister to form team HAM, who won with a total time of 49mins30.
Finally, in the 15-16 year olds’ race Josh Rayner (13mins38) was victorious amongst the boys. Chris Cox (16mins17) was 2nd and Henry Graham (17mins31) – 3rd. Ellen Ludlow was the only girl competing in the category and did very well to finish in 17mins02.
As in previous years Chiltern Harriers AC were praised by participants, parents and Chesham’s Town Mayor for its slick organisation of the event. All the competitors had fun and we look forward to welcoming budding triathletes into Chiltern Tri!
