A quick note about a result from last week. On 5 August our obstacle course racer extraordinaire Susan Jarman was back in action for third year in a row in the Total Warrior 10k in the Lake District, finishing 5th in her category and 14th female.
And finally, we’ll move on to today’s Burnham Beeches 10k and Half Marathon, the first event in our new Club championships for seniors. I am pleased to say that there were some fabulous results, putting those runners in an early strong position in the Championships. Starting with the half, Richard Clark was the fastest of our runners, with an excellent 1.28.39, joined by: Mike Worsfold (1.33.18), Grant Whitaker (1.43.11), Ian Lawson (1.43.34) and Mark Fry (2.15.32). In the 10k, it was age category wins for Mark Bruce (36.28) and Mike ‘Tiny’ Turney (39.10). David Thomas was second in his category (although I imagine he would have been first under 20) with a time of 38.17. Tom Powell earned himself a new PB of 39.40, making up the fourth of a quartet of top 10 results for CHAC. Tim Dawson achieved a fab sprint for the line, clocking a time of 44.42, joined swiftly by Daniel Buckingham (45.26); Matt Robins (46.03); David Saul (49.43) and Tamsin Finch, with a new PB of 56.48.
The next event in the Club Championships is our very own Shardeloes 10k! Entries are already open for the event on 17 September. If you are not running the event for any reason, please help to organise it on the day. Speak to Matt Robins (Race Director) or Trevor Davies (marshall coordinator) for more info.
