We’ll kick off proceedings for this week’s Race Report by celebrating the fantastic achievements of our young athletes. Chiltern Harriers AC’s U13 boys and girls teams were both crowned national cross-country champions on Saturday 24 February at Parliament Hills Fields in London, making Club history, whilst our U15 girls were second in their race. Congratulations to all the Harriers who raced on the day! I am sure a full report will appear soon enough.
Several Chiltern athletes were at the English Institute of Sport in Sheffield for the EA Age Group Indoor Championships at the weekend.
Chiltern Harriers youngsters had their best ever day at the National Cross Country Championships on Saturday. Under Cloudless blue skies on Parliament Hill, London, the Chiltern Under 13 Girls and Under 13 Boys both became National Champions, with the Under 15 Girls adding team silver.

Chiltern athletes continue to enjoy competing on the indoor circuit.
There were a few winning Chiltern Harriers AC performances at parkrun events on Saturday 17 February. Allan Stewart and Kate Loach were both victorious at Cassiobury Park in 16.03 and 21.24, respectively, whilst Fabian Downs won the Cootehill event (in Ireland) in 16.56.
The final Chiltern Cross Country League match of the season saw a great success for Chiltern Harriers on Saturday. In cold, wet conditions at Campbell Park, Milton Keynes, the Senior Women completed a rare team victory. The veteran women also won team gold.
The Junior ranks also had their best season ever. From nine age groups the club won six golds and two bronzes. There were also several individual successes. Overall the club was third, matching the result of the past couple of years.
Chiltern middle distance runners have been competing on the boards recently as the indoor season builds to the major meetings towards the end of February
Many Chiltern Harriers youngsters were taking part for their schools at the Buckinghamshire Schools Cross Country Championships at The Cottesloe School, Wing on Wednesday.
Overnight frost had made the ground firm and quick but the hilly courses made for a challenging day for the runners
Race Report 3 - 4 February: Last Friday of the Month, the Thames Trot, Watford Half and London Winter Run
Firstly, a missed result from last week’s report. On 26 January, Andrew Wiseall took a long lunch and competed in the “Last Friday of the Month” 5km in Hyde Park clocking a 5km PB of 18:08.
