Gabi Riley (U13) and Jessica Cook (U15) took part in pentathlons at Lee Valley on Sunday.
Gabi ended up in fifth place in the U13 competition with 1878 points across the five events. These comprised – 60m hurdles (10.76), Long Jump (3.87m), High Jump (1.20m), Shot (5.81m), and 800m (2.51.24) with shot and 800m both being PBs. Jessica was 28th in the U15s on 1748 points comprising 60m hurdles (10.97), Long Jump (3.88m), High Jump (1.29m), Shot (6.18m) and 800m (3.14.31). Newcomer Jessica gained PBs in all five events.
Also at Lee Valley other Chiltern athletes were tackling a smaller range of events. U13 Jemma Thomson ran a solid 8.93 in the 60m but then set a big new PB in the 200m of 28.90. U15 Zach Rahaman had an outing over 800m, running 2.41.26.
On Saturday U13 Ella Botha ran at the Bedfordshire AAA meeting at Sandy and ran a solid season opener of 5.22.18 for 1500m.
On Sunday several Chiltern athletes were at Eton for the Spring Open. U17 Joe Eggleton looked in good shape with 11.26 in 100m and an English Schools qualifier of 22.40 in the 200m. Fellow U17 Lily Holt had a good afternoon with 13.78 in 100m and a winning 1.55m in High Jump. Charlotte Rigby (U17) had a good season debut running 13.57 for 100m.
U23 Sarah Cross is back in competitive mode with 14.65 in 100m and 30.52m in javelin. Fellow U23 Hannah Thear ran 2.33.40 in 800m and U20 Mike Day also tackled 800m getting a PB of 2.10.47.
