John Webber earnt himself an all-time PB of 22.13 at Rickmansworth, as did Marea Logan and Caroline Stephens (20.41 and 22.31, respectively, both at Wycombe Rye). And finally, there were first place finishes for Jason Trimmer (19.46 at Rouse Hill, Australia); Aran Davidson (19.48 at Woolacombe Dunes) and Rebecca Nkoane (19.11 at Cassiobury Park, with daughter Lesedi and fellow Harrier Kate Loach taking 2ndand 3rdplace, respectively).
Meanwhile, in a completely different kind of 5k, Rash Wanninayake survived the walls and the electric fences of Tough Mudder in Finsbury Park.
Moving on to today, Sunday 14 April, and road running, Tamsin Finch earnt herself a new marathon PB in Boston (UK) in a time of 4.05.55. Joining Tamsin in Boston were Nathan Taylor (3.07.23) and Alan Hornibrook, who completed the half marathon event in 1.38.19, making him 3rd‘Super Vet’ 60+. On the South coast there was a PB performance for Tim Dawson in the Brighton Marathon (3.24.49) and for Dave Howells (3.26.45). In the 10k event, Ed Wright clocked a time of 45.41. Meanwhile en France, Matthew Hipgrave completed the Paris Marathon on 3.33.39, joined by Michael Bailey in 3.49.38. And finally, completing the marathon set, Sam Reed and Tom Powell took part in the Running Grand Prix at Goodwood, finishing in 3.32.44 and 3.37.34, respectively.
In half marathon news, Pippa Powell also decided to run round and round in circles at Goodwood (albeit only half as many times), finishing in 1.58.09, whilst George Gillingwater did the Regents Park Spring Half Marathon in 1.25.36. Well done to all our marathon and half-marathon runners!
