28/4/2019

London Marathon Day! The UK road running version of Notting Hill Carnival (without the tail feathers). And, as ever, Harriers didn’t disappoint.

However, before we get on to that we’ll take a quick spin through other results from this weekend. In parkrun yesterday, Saturday 27 April, there was a new overall PB for Jonty Wager-Leigh in Norwich (18.06); a first place finish for Bex Nkoane in Cassiobury Park (19.16) and a course record for Beth Lang at Rickmansworth (23.10).

Race Report 6 - 7 April: Spring (Marathons) are in the air

7/4/2019

Spring Marathon season has officially begun with some stunning performances in Manchester today. Percentage-wise, I’m not sure I have ever had the pleasure of writing about such an impressive marathon performance for Chiltern Harriers. Out of six runners, three went under three hours: Mike ‘Tiny’ Turney, with a new PB of 2.54.40; Rick Clarke – 2.56.19; and Ross Jarman – 2.59.20. There were also great runs from Andy Wiseall – 3.14.04 (having struggled with injury through training); Ian Lawson – 3.18.49 (negative splits) and Abi Chapman – 4.47.50. Well done everyone!
