What a Sunday it has been, Race Report fans! Not one, but two brilliant marathon PBs in Berlin for Aran Davidson (2.37.53) and Caroline Stephens (3.45.00) in some miserable, rainy conditions. I think I speak for everyone in saying that we are immensely proud of you both and wish you huge congratulations. You have both worked so hard and your reward is duly deserved. Hopefully some Oktoberfest celebrations are in full swing.
Race Report 21 - 22 September: XNRG Tring Ultra, Leighton 10 and Welwyn and Great East Half Marathons
Did you miss me, Race Report fans?! I couldn’t blame you if you didn’t, thanks to the wonderful Katie Royals, who has done a fabulous job at keeping you updated in my absence. Thank you Katie.
Before we move on to the usual Race Report line-up, a quick mention and a huge congratulations to Chiltern’s juniors who have been in action in the first schools’ cross country of the year and the Southern Athletics Association road relays. Chiltern scooped a number of medals across the age categories. Look out for a full report coming your way soon. Also, well done to Nick Hughes who ‘hare-d’ not one, but eight (is that even possible?!) school cross country races.
Chiltern Harriers had an excellent day at Crystal Palace on Sunday at the first big event of the autumn season, the Southern Road Relays.
For the U13, U15 and U17 age group teams competing there was one win, two bronze medals and each of the six ‘A’ teams was in the top eight. A grey but humid day gave way to heavy drizzle later but conditions were good for the most part on a fast road circuit in Crystal Palace Park. Most age groups ran the 3.1k route but U17 Men ran 4.8k.
Your usual race report aficionado is still on holiday, so once again you will have to put up with a replacement, much like this writer is currently putting up with dodgy train WIFI, so please be kind.

Firstly, I’d like to start this race report with a disclaimer: the usual race report maestro is on a well-deserved holiday, meaning this has been written by a novice, so please bear with me while I do my best to document all your running achievements.
Good evening, fans! You’ll forgive Your Humble Correspondent for a ‘Race Report Lite’ this evening, given that exertions at a family wedding yesterday means that she is feeling somewhat less creative than usual (and considerably more dehydrated).
