In warm, sunny conditions PBs were hard to come by but there were many excellent runs.
Men’s A Race
There were three Chiltern men in the prestigious 800m A Race. Third year U20 and Cambridge undergraduate Harry Cox ran a strong last 100m in a very close finish to be second in a PB of 1.55.17. U20 Cameron Reid was fifth in 1.55.93 and U17 Alex Aldred ran his second English Schools qualifying time of the summer in sixth with 1.56.28.
Mixed H Race
U15 Holly Henderson is chasing Junior Girls 800m qualifying and ran well here but was just outside the standard with 2.19.65.
Mixed M Race
U13 Lesedi Nkoane made her BMC debut with a good PB of 2.28.70.
Mixed N Race
U17 Jinaan Lockwood ran a solid race of 2.34.57.
Men’s B Race
U17 Alex Johnson continued his excellent form with a win in a English Schools National Standard time of 4.02.13, to add to his 4.01 PB from Watford on Wednesday. In fifth place in a strong season’s best was fellow U17 Angus Williams - 4.06.73 just outside the 4.06 ESAA standard.
Mixed G Race
U13 Alden Collier ran a mature race to put himself at the top of the national rankings with a big PB of 4.30.99. This is 28th on the UK all-time list for the age-group. Orla Williams (U17) had an excellent race, running her third sub-4.40 time of the summer with 4.38.49, just outside her recently set PB.
Mixed J Race
Abbie Henderson was not at her best, her 5.00.32 not reflecting her good recent training and 800m form.
Mixed K Race
U13 Leon Doran ran a PB of 4.58.74 in this one and U17 Alicia Bushell was a fraction outside her best with 5.00.15.
Mixed M Race
U13 Marea Logan ran in the first race of the meeting and won in a good PB of 5.10.42.
SEAA U20/ Senior Men’s Championships
After several months of injury niggles U23 Adam Day ran in the heats of the Senior Men’s Southern Track and Field Championships at Bedford on Saturday. Adam had a solid run to be fourth in 1.58.41. U20 Joe Eggleton also ran on Saturday in the 200m but did not finish as a precaution after feeling a hamstring niggle.
