Most of the Chiltern contingent were running for Buckinghamshire Schools but one Hertfordshire Schools and one Middlesex Schools athlete also toed the line.
Conditions were very challenging at Leeds, with strong winds and heavy rain soon churning up the tough undulating courses.
Next up were the Junior Boys, running 4.1k, and Thomas Redmond, although a first year, led in the Bucks contingent in 27th place. Matt Aldred was third scorer in 71st and Cormac Nisbet fourth scorer in 90th. Tom Emery was eighth Middlesex Schools finisher in 179th. The Bucks boys were 14th.
Abbie Henderson recorded the best Chiltern finishing position of the day, coming home in an excellent 11th in the 3k Junior Girls race. Twin sister Holly also had a great run to be 17th. The Bucks team were highest placed of the day in fifth with further scoring Chiltern contributions from Alice Brown (fourth scorer in 70th) and Maddie Hughes (fifth scorer in 157th). Hannah Ashby was seventh Bucks finisher in 175th.
The Intermediate Boys ran over 5.2k and saw Alex Aldred lead home the Bucks team in 79th with Alex Johnson sixth scorer in 157th. The Bucks boys were 17th.
Soraya Lockwood completed a very good cross country season, finishing as fourth Bucks scorer in 239th in the Senior Girls team that ran 4.1k, and Tommy Davies completed the Chiltern interest in the Senior Boys race over a gruelling 6.7k, having a very good run to be 96th and second Bucks scorer.
