Moving on to today, there were a number of Harriers competing in the Hell-Fire 10k and Half Marathon events in Wycombe. In the 10k, Paul McCarthy was first home in 44.54. He was joined by Dave Howells, who, clocked a respectable 47.11 (despite Achilles niggles) and Philip Lewis (1.15.25). In the half marathon event, Alistair Melville-Smith led the crowd home in a time of 1.24.50, earning himself 1stVet 40 in the process. He was followed swiftly by new Club member Stuart Real-Slavicky in 1.31.54, David Thomas (1.34.32) and Den Bailey (1.35.13). Joining them were: Hywel Thomas (1.37.47); Ben Martin (1.40.39); Sandra Reynolds (1.41.06); Glen Martin (1.44.15); Helen Chadwick (1.57.27); Mark Pearce (2.08.32) and Abi Chapman (2.11.50).

SOMETHING YOU MAY HAVE MISSED: Athletes said a fond farewell to Felicity Moffat, who has been a dedicated coach to the juniors for the last five years. Felicity is – temporarily – moving to Spain, for which we wish her the best of luck and offer a huge thank you.
