Kicking things off per tradition, we’ll start with parkrun. Chiltern Harriers had a one-two at Rickmansworth, with Aran Davidson leading James Repper home in 16.54 and 17.47, respectively, and Katie Repper not too far behind as first female in 20.48. Aran not only celebrated the win, but also his 100thever parkrun. Also achieving first place finishes were Julia Aliaj (23.19 at Seaford Beach) and Yours Truly (22.08 at Dunstable Downs). Whilst there were no all-time PBs for Harriers this week, there were a number of course records: Caroline Stephens (24.36 at Black Park); Tim Dawson, Mick Dolling and Victoria Lucas (21.39, 24.30 and 28.03 at Rickmansworth) and Angela Hughes (28.47 at East Grinstead).
Meanwhile in Portugal, Sylvia and Richard Moss took part in the ‘Shark Race’ on the Costa da Caparica – an 8k slog along wet sand in the dark, if Sylvia’s Strava is anything to go by! Richard clocked 34.32 (unofficial time), Sylvia – 40.51.
Moving on to today, only Ian Lawson was racing, in the Down Tow up Flow Half Marathon. Ian was third in his age category, in a very respectable 1.32.56. Well done all!
